See you on Thanksgiving morning!

Run to Feed the Hungry is still a go!

Thank you for checking in regarding the smoke in the air due to the tragic Camp Fire burning in Northern California. Run to Feed the Hungry will go on as scheduled on Thanksgiving Day (rain, shine, smoke, etc.). If conditions remain smoky, individuals will need to decide if the air quality will impact their ability to participate. Please note, rain is expected before next Thursday. We are unable to reschedule the event and encourage people to still register (even if they are unable to participate) as 100% of proceeds keep programs and services at Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services going year-round.

A Sacramento Tradition

Join us for Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services' Run to Feed the Hungry on Thursday, November 22, 2018! This family friendly event, sponsored by Western Health Advantage and presented by KCRA/KQCA, raises funds and awareness about food insecurity in our community!

In 1994, 796 participants turned out for the inaugural Run to Feed the Hungry event on Thanksgiving morning. This Sacramento tradition, proudly celebrating a record-breaking 29,604 participants in 2017, is not only the largest run in Sacramento, but also the largest Thanksgiving Day fun run in the country!

Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS) owns, plans and hosts Run to Feed the Hungry. That means all funds raised directly benefit the organization and support programs. The costs associated with putting on this event are kept low as a result of our generous sponsors, contributions of goods and services and through the incredible volunteer efforts of the community! We're proud to consider you our family, friends and dedicated partners. See you Thanksgiving Day!

Join us on Thanksgiving morning to celebrate 25 years of Run to Feed the Hungry. Registration is now open!

More Than a Meal

Much more than just food, Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS) offers 14 diverse services, all focusing on education and moving families to self-sufficiency and financial independence. This is made possible through the help of over 9,000 volunteers who contribute more than 85,000 hours every year. SFBFS directly serves families in our community and offers a hand up in the form of education, not a hand out, to each individual who seeks assistance. SFBFS is supported through private donors, some grants and special events such as Run to Feed the Hungry. SFBFS provides food, clothing, education and hope to 157,000 men, women and children each month thanks to your support.

Your contribution and support will be felt by thousands of families in need throughout our community. The funds raised at this event will impact men, women and children in our community every day by providing free emergency goods and life-changing services including food, diapers, clothing, mentoring, education and hope.
