Fundraising Makes a Difference!
While registration fees cover the cost of operating Run to Feed the Hungry, every dollar you fundraise on top of registering goes directly to Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. And every dollar truly makes a difference because just $1 can provide three meals to a local child, senior or family facing hunger.
Fundraising Gifts
Any individual who raises $500 - $999 will receive a $100 Fleet Feet gift card. Those who raise $1,000+ will receive a $175 Fleet Feet gift card.

2. Share your fundraising page
Posting the link to your fundraising page on social media helps get the word out. The more often you post, the more people will see it.
We’ve even created a social media toolkit with graphics, copy and tips to help you fundraise on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and more! Access it using the button below.
3. Reach out personally
Asking close friends and family directly - rather than through social media - helps them understand you really care about feeding our neighbors in need this holiday season.
Make a face-to-face ask
This is the simplest and most direct way. Talk about your involvement in Run to Feed the Hungry and then ask for a donation. A direct request like this often results in the largest donation.
Pick up the phone
This approach is almost as good as a face-to-face ask. Let your donor know that for each $1 they donate, Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services provides three meals to Sacramentans in need.
Send an email
It’s quick, easy and extremely effective. Here is a helpful email template you can use:
Dear______________,
This Thanksgiving, I’m participating in Run to Feed the Hungry in Sacramento, CA. This annual event raises critical funds for Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services, a local nonprofit organization leading the fight against hunger in Sacramento County.
As part of the race, I’m asking for donations to help provide food for children, seniors and families experiencing hunger in Sacramento County. Can you donate and help me meet my goal of _______? Here's the link to my personal fundraising page: [insert URL].
Thank you so much!
Mail a letter
Like email, but just a bit slower. You can create a fundraising letter by discussing Run to Feed the Hungry, Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services and why you’re choosing to fundraise.
No matter the method you choose, be sure to provide your donors with your Fundraising ID #. This ensures their donations will be credited to your page and make your thermometer rise.
Thank you for your support!
