About Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services
Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS) is a local nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. SFBFS is dedicated to assisting those in need by alleviating their immediate pain and problems and moving them toward self-sufficiency and financial independence. With a staff of about 90 and a volunteer force of more than 7,000, SFBFS is the central hub in Sacramento County’s fight against hunger.
In 2024, SFBFS:
Distributed 39.9 million pounds of food, the equivalent of 33.2 million meals.
Provided food assistance to an average of 309,285 individuals every month.
Assisted 1,336 individuals with CalFresh applications.
Distributed 6.4 million diapers at no cost to families.

About Run to Feed the Hungry
In 1994, 796 participants turned out for the inaugural Run to Feed the Hungry on Thanksgiving morning. Last year, we were joined by 31,660 runners and walkers, making Run to Feed the Hungry the largest Thanksgiving Day fun run in the country! Run to Feed the Hungry is owned, operated and the largest annual fundraiser for Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services.
