About Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services

 
HAVENS HOUSING
Provides dignified housing for families seeking to rebuild their lives. Parents are mentored by trained volunteers.
 
FOOD LOCKERS
SFBS operates four food lockers in the Sacramento area. Each day these lockers provide groceries to 1,500 people.
 
SENIOR BRIDGE BUILDERS
Utilizes the skills, education and experience of seniors to assist in operating SFBS.

COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTER
Provides instruction in reading, writing, computer skills, citizenship and ESL to over 300 students.

 
INTEL COMPUTER
CLUBHOUSE

Afterschool program for children ages 8-18 to participate in a learning environment using state-of-the-art computer hardware and software.
SUNDAY LUNCH
Provides 1,100 brown bag lunches every week. Fifty percent of those who come for lunch are under 12 years of age.
 
CLOTHES CLOSET
Distributes over 5,000 free articles of clothing per week.
MOTHER-BABY PROGRAM
Provides 300 parents a week with formula, baby food, diapers, baby items, mentoring and family education.
 
WOMEN'S WISDOM PROJECT
A secure environment in which women can enter into a personal transformational process through the creative arts.
 
THE P.L.A.C.E.
(Parents Learning and Children's Education)
Offers families an opportunity for parents to be involved in learning together.
