10K Run & 5K Run/Walk to support Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services
Thanksgiving morning - Thursday, November 27, 2014 — Rain or Shine!
10K - 8:15 a.m. • 5K - 9 a.m.
The race starts on J Street just west of the entrance to the Sacramento State campus and runs through the beautiful tree lined streets of East Sacramento.
Early Bird Registration (by Friday, November 21) - $35
Youth Registration (age 15 and younger) - $20
Regular Registration (Saturday, November 22 - Wednesday, November 26) - $40
Race Day Registration (on Thanksgiving morning, November 27) - $45
Race Day Registrants will not be timed.

All Early Bird Registrants are guaranteed a long-sleeved unisex shirt in their size. While we intend to order enough shirts for all participants, there is no guarantee that Regular or Race Day Registrants will receive a shirt or their desired size.
In order for us to produce an accurate finish time for each timed runner, we must have all the necessary data in our timing file prior to the start of the race. Allowing timing on Race Day would not provide us enough time to accomplish this and we would not be able to identify the runner/tag in this event.
Race shirts in requested sizes are only given to Early Bird and Regular registrants. We will only be providing 7,000 timing tags for those who would like to be timed and receive official race results. If you want to register as a timed runner, you should plan to register early.
All packets are available at the Sacramento REI store.
Although not required, we highly recommend you bring your receipt in your e-mail confirmation for faster service.
You may pick up packets for friends and family members. Be sure when picking up more than one timed bib that the correct bib is used by the correct person. Each bib has a label or handwritten name on it that identifies the individual to whom it has been assigned.
Payments may be made using credit cards, cash or checks online, at REI and on Thanksgiving morning at Run to Feed the Hungry.
A donation is additional money donated to Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services at the time of registration and does not go toward your fundraising goal. Fundraising is collecting money from various sources toward your goal after you register.
Participants who donate a minimum of $50 at the time of registration, in addition to the registration cost, will receive a Run to Feed the Hungry beanie.
From Capital City Freeway, Highway 99 and Highway 50 East: Take Highway 50 eastbound. Exit at 65th Street Left (north) on 65th Street, 0.5 miles to Folsom Blvd. Right on Folsom Blvd. 0.5 miles to State University Drive East. Follow the Run to Feed the Hungry signs.
From Highway 50 westbound: Exit at Howe Avenue (This exit tends to get backed up so please allow yourself enough time). Left onto College Town Drive. Follow Run to Feed the Hungry signs.
Additional parking exists on the residential streets between 56th and 58th Streets, between M and H Streets. Please allow plenty of time for parking.
Plenty of free parking is available in and around CSUS. Please be advised that the CSUS J Street entrance will be closed to all vehicles until after the race concludes.
Runners in the 10K (8:15 a.m. start) and 5K (9 a.m. start) will each have designated corrals. We ask that 5K runners stay off J Street until after all of the 10K runners pass the start banner. We suggest staying in the Sacramento State esplanade area in back of the giant inflatable turkey. We will make an announcement calling 5K participants onto J Street at the appropriate time. There will be orange signs indicating the timed corral. Line up behind the appropriate pace marker to start your race based on your anticipated finish time. The untimed corral will be designated by blue signs. Walkers and those with baby strollers must line up behind the black and white Walkers/Strollers sign.
We have a lost and found area for both people and items. This tent will be located next to the stage in the post-race area. We encourage you to designate an area, prior to the race, as an agreed upon spot to meet up with any members of your group or family who may become separated. If there are items not recovered at the event, please contact Leona at SFBFS (916) 456-1980.
For your pet's safety and the safety of all participants in this event, dogs are prohibited. If you have a dog in any of the start areas you will be asked to remove the dog from the race. If that is not an option for you then you will be respectfully asked to refrain from participating in the race. Dogs are also not permitted in the pre-race and post-race areas. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
7,000 timing tags are available for runners who register as a timed participant.
We are using Chronotrack B-tag Timing. Pin your bib to the front of your shirt. The timing tag is attached to the back of your bib number. The timing tag remains on the bib. Please do not cut, bend, fold, wrinkle or change your bib number in any way.
We will be awarding the top 3 male and female 5k and 10k winners as they cross the finish line. All other awards will be mailed to all recipients one week after the event.
Only timed participants may enter the 5K or 10K start corral. Untimed participants follow timed participants. If you are a timed runner with a stroller or baby jogger you will not be permitted to enter the 5K or 10K start corral. This is done for the safety of all participants.

Packet pickup is available at the Sacramento REI store for individual registrants who have registered either online or by mail, or who would like to register. Participants will receive a bib, race shirt and timing tag (if applicable). If possible, please bring the receipt from your confirmation e-mail(s) for faster service. You may pick up packets for friends or family members.
Packet Pickup is also available on Race Day from 7 - 9 a.m.
Team Members: Please do not come to Sacramento REI for your packet. Someone from your team will contact you regarding your packet and make arrangements for you to receive it.
Our 5K and 10K courses wind through the beautiful tree-lined streets of East Sacramento. The 5K and 10K share the same finish line just east of the corner of Elvas Avenue and H Street.
We appreciate that the residents of East Sacramento can be impacted by the very large crowd and road closures on Thanksgiving morning. This map and instructions should help ease the burden a little. Thanks for your support and patience.
